About

Approach to Treatment

Meghan Finn Therapy & Consultation is a small group of experienced therapists working with adults, families, and groups.

We consider ourselves to be not only therapists but advocates. With us, you will find an inviting, supportive, solution focused and engaged experience in working toward your personal goals and overall wellness. We collaborate and connect with the larger mental health community and other professionals involved in the care of our clients to ensure our clients are met with best practice initiatives and whole person support. We prioritize cultural humility, liberation ethics, and the strength of relational work in our therapeutic relationships.

We work with clients to make meaningful and sustainable adjustments in their lives and social emotional connections. We meet the challenging moments in life with steadiness, confidence, and compassion and take every opportunity to celebrate accomplishments, success, moments of laughter, and hope.

Individual Therapy: Individual therapy, also known as talk or psychotherapy, can be an effective tool to treat a variety of mental and emotional health concerns, add to your support network, and enhance your personal growth. Through individual therapy, you will have one on one care with a clinician, a non-judgmental space, and an individual plan or strategy tailored to suit your needs and pace. Some of the benefits of individual therapy include but are not limited to: working toward understanding and alleviation of symptoms, developing healthy coping strategies, and deepening your ability to connect with others. During your free 15-20 minute phone consultation, we will discuss your reasons for seeking care, our approach to therapy and treatment methodologies, and what you hope to find in a therapist and the therapeutic process. A typical plan for individual therapy would be once weekly, 50 minute sessions.

Group Therapy: Group therapy is an effective way to help you manage interpersonal problems and/or gain support if you are lacking social, emotional connections in your life. Group therapy can also help you deepen your work in individual therapy through insights shared and gained by the group. Interpersonal Process Groups help participants to increase awareness of their thoughts and feelings in the moment, as well as learn to express them in a healthy, open way. Participants explore their own relationship patterns and have a safe space to try new ways of relating to others. Groups are limited to 8 participants and meet weekly for 60-90 minutes.
